Swim Team - Summer 2025

Our team is a TAAF affiliated team that offers competitive swim for both male and female swimmers starting at 5 years of age. Although we are primarily a youth inhabited team, TAAF offers events for adults as well, so all are welcome to try out and join! We welcome beginner level swimmers as well as elite, and we divide the team into three different groups which have practices tailored to each specific group's needs. Athletes will learn proper stroke technique, build endurance, and become more efficient in the water. Each athlete will need to purchase an all-black competitive swimsuit, but team caps will be provided. The requirements to try out for swim team are as follows:

- One-piece swimsuit for girls, trunks or jammers for boys

- Caps are not mandatory to tryout, but hair must be secured out of the face

- Goggles are not mandatory but highly recommended and may NOT cover the nose

- Must be able to swim freestyle at least halfway across the pool (other strokes will be assessed if they are knowledgeable)

Swim meets are generally scheduled every other Saturday and are located close to home. The meet schedule will be provided at the first practice. The TAAF meets are as follows: TAAF Regional Meet, July 19th at New Braunfels Landa Park. TAAF State Meet (must qualify at regionals), July 31st - Aug 3rd at A&M College Station

The Swim Team Coach will determine what group your child will be with after Swim Team Tryouts. Tryouts will be held on May 22nd & May 23rd at 4pm-5:30pm @ Lakeside Pool. Practice times would be as follows: Bronze (9:45am - 10:30am), Silver (10:15am - 11:15am), Gold (10:45am - 12:15pm). Practice days and are Tuesday - Friday mornings, starting May 27th
